Where is Satisfaction On Your To-Do-List?

What are you looking for in your professional life? Would wanting to go to work and feeling satisfied be on or near the top of your list?  If you are like most people that surely would be a normal expectation.  Is that still a goal? Do you know how to get to that point in your career?

Is the writing of things on your To Do list just for the satisfaction of crossing them of the list? Your bucket-list or to-do-list should be more than just a list that is about completion. It should be about goals and getting more satisfaction. Satisfaction in life and in your business life as well. Do you dread going to work and being board again and again? Do you fear that today is the day you get laid off?

Bringing the right tools and skill set to work can make your “work” a pleasure. Yes, it really is that simple. Many times it not just about finding the right job or path but making you a better and more valuable fit in the area that interests you the most.

Are you already working in the Project Management field?

Project management is a systematic approach to planning and guiding any project processes from start to finish. According to the Project Management Institute, the processes are guided through five stages: initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.

More specifically, what is a project? It's a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result.

A project is temporary in that it has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources.

And a project is unique in that it is not a routine operation, but a specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal. So a project team often includes people who don’t usually work together – sometimes from different organizations and across multiple geographies.

The development of software for an improved business process, the construction of a building or bridge, the relief effort after a natural disaster, the expansion of sales into a new geographic market — all are projects.

And all must be expertly managed to deliver the on-time, on-budget results, learning and integration that organizations need.

Project management, then, is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.

With project management it means you aren’t doing the same job over and over again. Sound Satisfying?
